Studio 305, a large, slightly L-shaped, light-filled work space, will be available in early February. This 460-square-foot beauty has been a photographer’s studio since it was built, but could work well for a painter or sculptor, too. The ceilings are 11 feet high and there is a storage loft built over the short leg of the “L”. Three windows (largest one functional) are surrounded by exposed brick; the rest of the walls are smooth drywall. There are multiple outlets on the ceiling for customizing lighting. Rent of $1150 includes all utilities.
The building has working heat/AC. The monthly rent of $1150 includes utilities, including shared wifi, and use of a shared kitchenette, bathroom, lobby, and display spaces. All studios are work-only, with 24/7 access. Leases are one year with a month-to-month default option after expiration.
The artists of ’57 Biscayne organize coordinated open studios approximately twice a year, sharing publicity & planning tasks and drawing a good crowd. The members of this community are serious about their art, professional, supportive of other artists, and readily lend their skills to make ’57 Biscayne successful and generally awesome. We welcome all peoples and genders, and naturally expect anyone who joins us to do likewise.
If you are interested in renting this space, please contact the proprietrix and tell her what sort of art you make and why you’d make a fabulous Biscaynito. If you have skills beyond your artwork that you’d be willing to share with the community—e.g., marketing, graphic design, public relations, tech skills, etc.—be sure to mention it!
